About

Bridging the gap between engineers and everyone else.

Most people I meet have heard about AI. They've tried ChatGPT, maybe used it to write an email. But they have no idea what engineers like me are actually doing with it day-to-day — and how much of that is within reach for anyone willing to learn. That gap is what this site is about.

What I do

I'm a Senior Software Engineer with 12 years building data-intensive web applications — mostly with US-based product teams, fully remote from Costa Rica. My day-to-day is heavy on TypeScript, and for the last few years, increasingly on integrating AI into real production systems.

Right now I'm embedded at an AI product company where I lead frontend architecture, own 8-week release cycles end-to-end, and build internal tooling that uses AI agents to automate development workflows — things like parallel feature development and automated architectural code review. I use Cursor and Claude Code daily. Not as novelties. As serious tools that change how I work.

Why I write

Here's something most people don't realize about engineers: we're not primarily trained to write code. We're trained to translate. To take what a person wants — some outcome, some problem, some idea — and express it precisely enough that a machine can act on it. That translation layer is the actual skill.

AI didn't replace that. It just changed the language. Instead of TypeScript or Python, you're now writing in plain English. The translation is still happening — it's just that the barrier to entry dropped dramatically. Which means the gap between what engineers can do and what everyone else can do is smaller than it's ever been. But most people still don't see it that way.

That's what this site is for. Not to simplify things until they're useless, but to hand over the translation skills directly — so you can start talking to these systems the way engineers do, and actually get them to do something useful.
